The search for the elusive Golden Tiger Golden CD

Friday, July 11th, 2008

In an unprecedented move by an online casino, over 44 countries worldwide will be involved in the year’s biggest online casino marketing extravaganza.

GoldenTigerCasino.com will be releasing its highly acclaimed promotional CDs in 14 languages to Europe, Canada, South Africa and Asia in what looks to be one of the biggest online casino campaigns ever. The CDs will be one of three colors determining the prize upon signup at the popular online casino: Silver $10, Blue $500, or Gold an enormous $1,500.

Perhaps more appealing however is the chance to use this free money to hit one of Golden Tiger Casino’s enormous progressive jackpots. Earlier this year, Klaus E from Finland did just this, using a Casino Rewards promotional CD to hit an incredible $5.5 million. The CD had allegedly been sitting around gathering dust on his kitchen table for a few weeks before he decided to put it in his computer, a decision which would ultimately change his life.

Golden Tiger Casino is part of the award winning group CasinoRewards.com, that continues to make online gambling more accessible to new players with its frequent promotions and signature bonus offers. Golden Tiger Casino offers 1 hour of free game play to experience any of the 200+ online casino games, including video poker, table games, slots and card games catering to all level of player. In addition, all new players receive a bonus $40, then have 1 hour to win as much money as possible, meaning no risk to the player’s own funds. Then, upon depositing at the casino the player can receive a deposit bonus of up to $250!

Even if members of the public are not lucky enough to find a letter from Golden Tiger Casino in the post in the next few weeks, no one can doubt the allure of the existing promotions already available on the site. However, with the prospect of discovering a Golden Tiger Golden CD and the enticing rewards therein, the nation awaits the postman with baited breath.

Grassroots Campaign Against UIGEA Launched in the UK

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

UK companies, UC group and Baker Tilly Accountants, have announced the introduction of the “Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative”, in support of recent moves to regulate Internet gambling in the US.

The initiative is set to stand in opposition to the blanket prohibitive legislation in the US in the form of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. In addition, a re-opening of the US market would see the return of significant profits to both companies.

UC Group has fought the UIGEA since its inception, and can offer technology to detect compulsive gambling as well as money laundering and underage gambling. This will support Barney Frank’s proposed bill for a legal and regulated online gambling industry.

“The Initiative is both to educate parts of the public as well as to garner grassroots support from other companies, organizations and individuals for the (Barney Frank’s) legislation,” said spokesman Jeff Sandman of Hyde Park Communications.

According to Jeffrey Oldham of Direct Impact, specialists in grassroots mobilisation, the initiative is a novel use of grassroots tactics.

Online Casino Probe Forces Second Life Upgrade

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

An updated registration system has been introduced to the Second Life game by creators, Linden Lab. Federal interest in online gambling at Second Life casinos is making Linden Lab cautious, but the move is also related to child protection issues.

In a press release, the company stated, “It has been a basic tenet of Second Life that all Residents are legally responsible for their own activities and for complying with the laws of the local jurisdiction in which they reside.”

Two classes of user will now be created: ‘verified’ status indicates a registrant has submitted valid identification and payment to the company, “unverified” means they have not. Users can then confirm aspects of each other’s identities, such as age and jurisdiction.

“Hopefully, these features will help Residents as they conform to their own local laws.”

Second Life businesses can then screen casino customers to avoid engaging customers whose age or local legislation prohibits online gambling. The option of identity confirmation also puts the responsibility for any illegal activity back with the provider and not Linden Labs themselves.

Teen/adult segregation will also be more thorough – adults found in teen areas face total exclusion, and teens in adult areas will be ‘deported’ back to the teen grids.

Wednesday, 21 March 2007 – The NETELLER Plc Group (LSE: NLR), the leading global independent online money transfer business, today announced that it has signed agreements with each of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (“USAO”) and Navigant Consulting, Inc. (“Navigant”).

On 8 February 2007, the Group announced that it was in discussions with the USAO to manage an orderly return of funds to US customers and that it was contemplated that a forensic accounting firm would be engaged, at the Group’s expense, to assist in this process and to examine the Group’s financial position.

The Group is pleased to announce that on 20 March 2007, it signed agreements with the USAO and Navigant which, among other things, outline terms and a timeline under which NETELLER will work toward the orderly distribution of funds to its US customers. Per the agreements, the Group anticipates that within the next 75 days it will announce a plan by which the funds will be distributed to US customers. Further updates with relation to the US situation will be made as soon as there are any material developments. In the meantime, US customers should visit updates.neteller.com for more information, including newly updated FAQs that provide additional clarity, where the Group is able, around certain issues currently being raised in a number of public forums. Stardust Casino turns to Dust

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

The Las Vegas Strip’s first mass-market casino-hotel was imploded early Tuesday in a hail of fireworks to make way for Boyd Gaming Corp.’s $4.4 billion megaresort.

The casino opened July 2, 1958, billing itself as the world’s largest resort hotel with 1,032 rooms. It was credited with being Las Vegas’ first mass-market casino, thanks to cheap rates and loss-leading food and drinks.

Hundreds of people partied beneath tents and on makeshift patios before Boyd chairman Bill Boyd’s four grandsons pushed a plunger to detonate the former Stardust casino. The blast generated a massive dust cloud that chased the on lookers into cars, buses and nearby casinos. The implosion turned a 32-story tower, gutted to its barest concrete and steel over the past three months, into the tallest building ever knocked down on the Strip.

428 pounds of explosives where used to destroy the casino’s two towers. Twenty water cannons sprayed the dust cloud, which blanketed the area in gray ash, and the main drag of the 24-hour gambling area was temporarily shut down.

The clean up of the site was expected to take up to two months.

The Stardust became as famous for its stellar, 188-foot sign and marquee as its mob connections. The Strip institution was the inspiration for the 1995 movie “Casino,” in which Robert De Niro played a character inspired by Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal, who ran the casino-hotel in the mid-1970s.

But as regulators cracked down on skimming in later years, Boyd was brought in as an operator in 1983 and bought the Stardust in 1985 when the owners lost their gambling license.

The new mega casino is set to open in late 2010 with more than 5,000 hotel rooms, a production theater, concert venue, shopping mall and more than 1 million square feet of meeting space.

Stocks soar on UIGEA repeal rumors

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

Party Gaming stocks sored as rumors went around claiming that US SEC Chairman Barney Frank was going to repeal the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. However, today, Frank’s press secretary denied the rumors.

“As you know, he is opposed to restrictions on online gambling,” said Frank’s press secretary, Steve Adamske. “But there is nothing currently underway to repeal the restrictions on Internet gambling in the United States. There are a lot of reports coming out of Europe and I have no idea where they are coming from. There hasn’t been anyone on our staff talking about that, including the Chairman.”

Last March, Frank said: ‘Adults are entitled to do with their money what they want to do.’

We’ll keep you posted on any developments.

Macau edges out Las Vegas

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

For 35 years the Hotel Lisboa was the only casino in Macau. But that’s all about to change as Vegas heavyweights enter the market.

Stanley Ho, has controlled Macau’s gaming for four decades has seen his share of the gambling revenue decrease by over 50% in the last couple of years. With the likes of Steve Wynn of Wynn Resorts Ltd. and Sheldon Adelson of the Sands coming to town, it’s a safe bet that his share will continue to dwindle.

How bad is for Stanley Ho? Two of his seventeen children have joined forces with his American counterparts while Ho and His sister a minority shareholder in his company battle over selling part of the company to raise money to compete with Wynn and Adelson.

Why Macau? There are a total of 2,2 billion people that live within a 5 hour flight of Macau. Thats 7 times the amount of people that live with the flight time on Las Vegas. And there is no ethnicity that enjoys gambling more than Asians do.

There will be much more news on Macau in the coming months as the battle is still in it’s infancy, but one thing is for sure, there is plenty of opportunity to make a fortune here. not just for the casino owners, but for anyone who invests in Macau.
